It’s heartbreaking nothing is being done about war criminals.

I have been to Israel and the West Bank multiple times as a tourist in the “Holy Land” and I, too, believe the Israelis are guilty of apartheid against the Palestinians. It is plain to see and dangerous. The Palestinian people have no voice for justice and dignity. Even surrounding Arab countries shun them. They are political pawns. As heinous as the attack of October 7 was, it was inevitable due to the severe oppression of Palestinians. Israeli policies are fertile ground for Hamas influence and violence to thrive. Even now, new generations of radicalized Palestinians are being made. I am outraged that US policy continues to arm the Israelis in their genocidal quest.

Jews were victims of genocide. Now, Zionists are instigators of genocide.

This is one of the major disappointments of my life.

Then, the Zionists conflated criticism of their policies with anti-semitism, and too many are afraid to say anything about it.

By the way, Palestinians are Semites. More than the Zionists are.

One of the major disappointments of my life, too. When I was a teen, I was always pro Israel. The country was so romantic to me. When I got older, I saw how they bullied the Palestinians. Now it’s much worse than bullying.

October 7 showed that if the Palestinians had the capability to kill Jews and those who they thought helped the Jews (including Muslims Israelis) then they would do so. There is literally zero evidence that if Israel laid down their arms there would not be a massacre of Jews. Literally zero. During the Oslo Peace Accords there was a wave of suicide bombings by Hamas. Only weeks after the failed 2000 Camp David peace discussions the Palestinians started a second uprising which included the literal - not figurative - physical tearing apart of two Israeli Reservists who stumbled into Ramallah and were arrested. Where is the Palestinian "peace camp"? They were the ones who whipped up the frenzy during the Second Intifada.

What you want is not a peace where two people live side-by-side. It is the peace that comes only after a genocide of Jews. I don't think you want that but being naive is no excuse.

This provides a different picture than the one you have.

Can you also tell me where the Jews of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Egypt, Libya and Algeria are? I'm trying to find out where they've gone. Can you help me find them? What happened to them?

Israel pays Jews to move to Israel, because it's not a good look when you try to pretend Muslims want to kill all Jews, but in reality Jews live peacefully among Muslims and have for 1300 years, until 1948 when European Jews stole Palestinian land and called it Israel.

Israeli Government to Reward New Immigrants Who Settle in Country's North, South and West Bank

I read your entire post before commenting and clicked into most of the links. I missed the documents or links that talk about 6 million people in Palestine being replaced by Jews. Do you know how many Arabs were living in the Palestinian Mandate right after the British turned over administration to the UN? It must also be acknowledged that a large number of Jews (perhaps as many as 1M) fled or were expelled from Arab countries that were their homes for centuries during and after the war. This exodus ended up depositing 250K Jews in Israel, after the govt implemented policies to allow 600K immigrants over 4 years.

People who claim that all the Jews who emigrated to Israel prior to the founding were part of some colonial effort have not read enough history. Israel is the only country in the world whose existence and whose right to exist as the defensible ancestral homeland of the Jews is continuously questioned. This despite the creation of other countries in the modern era due to partition under similar circumstances: Pakistan, Cyprus, Ireland, the Balkans...

So I ask you: if Palestinians have a right to self determination in the historical lands of Judea and Samaria, why do the Jews of Israel, 40+% of whom are Mizrahi/Sephardim, not have that same right? The Arabs of the region never enjoyed the sovereign self-rule created by many other empires and countries, ever. By contrast, the Jews had several long lasting kingdoms. They have more claim to the land than any existing peoples.

If Israel was a colonial project, and not a return of Jews in diaspora to their ancestral homeland, from which they had been expelled multiple times, then why did they ever decide to just take a paltry 8K square miles? Why did they give back the Sinai and decide not to march on Damascus? Instead of fighting the British, why didn't they just team up to slaughter the Arabs living there in the 20s? Why did they bother buying land, why not just take it? If Israel is trying to commit ethnic cleansing or genocide, it must be said that they are the absolute worst at it! They've had since the Yom Kippur War, the last major war with multiple Arab countries, to wipe the Palestinians out. But instead they've allowed the population to grow from 996K in 1955 to 5.5M in 2024. Israel is living next to and is surrounded by people and nations who have always wanted to push them into the sea. You well know that even if the "Palestinians" hadn't become refugees in 1948 (in large part due to Arab attackers telling them to get out while they slaughter all the Jews), the Jews there would not have lasted long.

The only genocide that would be perpetrated in the middle east would be if Israel were to give up. They'd be destroyed militarily if not demographically. Anyone pushing "Free Palestine", including you, is advocating for destruction of the Jews in Israel. Funny how Israel's right to self determination and its right to exist is the only one in the world to ever be questioned.

Here's a video of President Truman discussing the difficulties of kicking 6 million Palestinians out of Palestine and replacing them with 6 million Jews from Europe:

Yeah, Truman's numbers are way off. In 1947, there were ~1M Muslim Arabs living in Palestine and 630K Jews. 6M people were never going to be "displaced" and replaced with 6M Jews. Immigration was gradual and natural growth amount populations occurred as well. There are now 7.4M Jews living in Israel and 2.1M Arabs.

Yeah, I'm sure you know better than President Truman. And the Nakba never happened either, amirite?

Thanks for the Israeli Hasbara propaganda.

Look, I'm betting that we agree on a whole lot of things outside of the issue of Israel's existence. I am the son of a Holocaust survivor and I've studied the region and conflict for my own edification for a long time. You don't have to believe me because you can as they say, DYOR on the numbers. I will not cast aspersions on Truman's character but he was around 80 when they filmed this and the age of 80 in 1964 is not the age of 80 today. Even the fact he says "something had to be done and we did it" is a bit if hyperbole. There is way too much context missing from this clip. Now, I believe that dropping the bomb was necessary but I could be sarcastic and say that I refuse to believe anything a mass murderer like Truman says. See how that works? I know, I know, it's "different".
